Bricks required for 1000 square feet wall

introduction:- in this topics we know about how many bricks are used in 1000 square feet. We know that bricks have different types of dimension and their size according to location and different country that are used in. But there is two size of bricks one is modular size of bricks and second one is Indian size of brick mention in this topics.

◆ quantity of bricks depend on many factors

1) size of bricks :- if size of bricks is more than we have needed less quantity of bricks for 1000 square feet wall area and if size of bricks is less than we have needed more quantity of bricks for 1000 square feet area

2) thickness of wall:– bricks quantity calculation also depend on thickness of wall wall thickness may be 9 inch or 4.5 inch or in other calculation it will be taken as 10 inch or 5 inch

3) thickness of mortar:- brick quantity calculation also depend upon thickness of mortar where it will be 0.4 inch or 0.5 inch

◆ brick size =8″×4″×4″ ( first type)
=9″×4.5″×3″(second type)

How many bricks are used in 1000 square feet ?

◆(1) how many bricks are used in 1000 square feet in 9 inch wall if mortar thickness is 0.4″ and brick size is 8″×4″×4″

Given :-

Size of brick =8″×4″×4″
Mortar thickness = 0.4″
Thickness of wall = 9″
Area of brick wall =1000 sq.ft

No. of bricks = volume of brick work/volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume of brick work = area × wall thickness

1 sq.ft = 144 inch

Volume = 1 sq.ft × 9 inch

Volume = 144″×9″= 1296 cubic inch

Volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume = 8.4″×4.4″×4.4″ =162.624 cubic inch

Number of bricks = 1296/162.624=7.969

Consider 5 percentage wastage of bricks

5% of 7.969 = 0.39

Total number of bricks for 1 square feet area

= 7.969 +0.39 =8.359

For 1 sq.ft no. Of bricks = 8.359

For 1000 sq.ft = 1000×8.359=8359

Hence approx 8359 number of bricks are required for 1000 square feet wall area

◆(2) how many bricks are used in 1000 square feet in 4.5 inch wall if mortar thickness is 0.4″ and brick size is 8″×4″×4″

Given :-

Size of brick =8″×4″×4″
Mortar thickness = 0.4″
Thickness of wall = 4.5″
Area of brick wall =1000 sq.ft

No. of bricks = volume of brick work/volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume of brick work = area × wall thickness

1 sq.ft = 144 inch

Volume = 1 sq.ft × 4.5 inch

Volume = 144″×4.5″= 648 cubic inch

Volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume = 8.4″×4.4″×4.4″ =162.624 cubic inch

Number of bricks = 648/162.624=3.984

Consider 5 percentage wastage of bricks

5% of 3.984 = 0.19

Total number of bricks for 1 square feet area

= 3.984 +0.19 =4.174

For 1 sq.ft no. Of bricks = 4.174

For 1000 sq.ft = 1000×4.174=4174

Hence approx 4174 number of bricks are required for 1000 square feet wall area

◆(3) how many bricks are used in 1000 square feet in 9 inch wall if mortar thickness is 0.4″ and brick size is 9″×4.5″×3″

Given :-

Size of brick =9″×4.5″×3″
Mortar thickness = 0.4″
Thickness of wall = 9″
Area of brick wall =1000 sq.ft

No. of bricks = volume of brick work/volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume of brick work = area × wall thickness

1 sq.ft = 144 inch

Volume = 1 sq.ft × 9 inch

Volume = 144″×9″= 1296 cubic inch

Volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume = 9.4″×4.9″×3.4″ =156.604 cubic inch

Number of bricks = 1296/156.604=8.275

Consider 5 percentage wastage of bricks

5% of 8.275 = 0.4137

Total number of bricks for 1 square feet area

= 8.275 +0.4137 =8.6887

For 1 sq.ft no. Of bricks = 8.6887

For 1000 sq.ft = 1000×8.6887=8688

Hence approx 8688 number of bricks are required for 1000 square feet wall area

◆(4) how many bricks are used in 1000 square feet in 4.5 inch wall if mortar thickness is 0.4″ and brick size is 9″×4.5″×3″

Given :-

Size of brick =9″×4.5″×3″
Mortar thickness = 0.4″
Thickness of wall = 4.5″
Area of brick wall =1000 sq.ft

No. of bricks = volume of brick work/volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume of brick work = area × wall thickness

1 sq.ft = 144 inch

Volume = 1 sq.ft × 4.5 inch

Volume = 144″×4.5″= 648 cubic inch

Volume of 1 brick with mortar

Volume = 9.4″×4.9″×3.4″ =156.604 cubic inch

Number of bricks = 648/156.604=4.137

Consider 5 percentage wastage of bricks

5% of 4.137 = 0.20

Total number of bricks for 1 square feet area

= 4.137 +0.20 =4.337

For 1 sq.ft no. Of bricks = 4.337

For 1000 sq.ft = 1000×4.337=4337

Hence approx 4337 number of bricks are required for 1000 square feet wall area
