The weight of a square steel bar depends on its density and volume. Density measures its unit mass, that is, the mass in kg per unit volume in cubic meters, and the volume of the square steel bar is the multiplication of length, width and thickness.
To calculate the weight of a square steel bar, you need to know its dimensions such as length, width, and its thickness and the density of steel. The formula to calculate the weight of square steel bar is: Weight = volume × Density, and Volume = Length × Width × Thickness, so final formula is: Weight = Length × Width × Thickness × Density.
The square Steel bar come in the form of various shape like pipe and tube so we called it is square steel pipe and square tube.
Unit weight of steel is about 7850 kg/m3. Square section of steel is also ms steel containing less amount of carbon that’s why it is called mild steel and their yield strength is Fe250. So weight of ms steel is calculated by following methods.
How calculate steel weight
Steel weight calculation is done by with the help of steel weight formula by using steel weight calculator. With the help of steel weight formula we can easily find steel weight.
For finding the value of steel weight bars we have to require to measurement of square Steel first is there volume and second one is there Unit weight of Steel that is also known as Steel density.
And other way of calculating weight of steel is with the help of steel weight calculator.
● Example 1
Calculate weight of square shape Steel bar which length is 1 metre
Here’s how you can calculate the weight of a square steel bar:
1. Estimate dimensions of Square steel: Measure the length, width, and thickness of the square steel bar in meters. For example, if you have a square steel bar with dimensions: Length = 1 meter, Width = 0.02 meters (20 millimeters) and
Thickness = 0.02 meters (20 millimeters).
2. Estimate density of Square steel: Look up the density of steel, which is typically around 7850 kg/m3.
3. Estimate volume of Square steel: The volume of square steel is: Length × Width × Thickness, plug the values into the formula and calculate the volume in cubic meters, so volume = 1m x 0.02m x 0.02m = 0.0004 m3.
4. Estimate weight of Square steel bar: Weight = volume × Density, plug the values into the formula and calculate the weight in kilograms. The weight would be: Weight = 0.0004 m3 × 7850 kg/m3 = 3.14 kg.
Uses of ms square section
We know that square square tube and Square steel pipe is used in various civil work purpose like building construction and machinery work in factories to form various type of machine and it is also used in welding of different equipment .
Steel bar in square shape have equal edge length and area of square shape Steel bar square of Edge length, in square shape steel all sides and edge length are equal if one side of square in steel is 20 mm show all sides has 20 mm edge length
■ what is admixture of concrete and its type
like that if you have a length 50 mm so first we convert in metre
50mm = 50/1000 m
=0.05m
Cross section Area= (Edge length)2
Edge length=50mm

Steel weight formula
●Solve:-we have steel weight formula for the steel weight bars
Given dimension is:-
Density of steel =7850 kg/m3
Length of Steel =1 meter
Side length of a steel =50mm
●Step first:-
we know that
weight of ms bar = volume of Steel× density of steel
Weight=Volume ×Density
●Step 2nd:-
First we should calculate
volume of Steel= area of square shaped Steel bar × length of Steel bar
Volume = Area × Length
Putting all the value
Weight =(Area × Length) ×Density
Weight of steel =50mm×50mm×1m×7850kg/m3
0.05m×0.05m×1m×7850kg/m3
W=0.0025m3×7850kg/m3
Weight of ms steel =19.62kg Ans.
Conclusions:
To calculate the weight of a square steel bar, you need to multiply volume and the density of steel. The formula to calculate the weight of square steel bar is: Weight = Volume × Density, and Volume = Length × Width × Thickness.
