How many bags of cement required for 100 sq ft brickwork?

In this article we know about how many bags of cement is required for 100 square feet brick wall, considering brick masonry calculation for 100 square feet area we have require binding & adhesive material as cement mortar which is mixture of cement and sand, cement mortar ratio for brickwork is 1:6 for 9 inch and 13.5 inch thick brick wall and 1:4 or 1:5 is for 4.5 inch or 4 inch thick brick wall.

How many bags of cement required for 100 sq ft brickwork of 4.5 inch brick wall

Given area of brickwork = 100 sq ft

Thickness of brick wall = 4.5 inch = 0.375′

Volume of brickwork = 100 × 0.375 =37.5 Cuft

We have to convert volume of brick cubic feet into cubic metre and we know that

35.3147 cu ft = 1 Cu m

37.5 cuft = 1.062 cubic meter

Volume of brickwork = 1.062 cubic meter

Volume of indian brick size = 0.19 × 0.09 ×0.09 m3 = 0.001539 m3

Volume of 1 brick = 0.001539 m3

Thickness of mortar = 10 mm

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.2×0.1×0.1 m3 = 0.002 m3

No. of bricks = 1.062/0.002 = 531 nos

Volume of all bricks without mortar = 531 × 0.001539 = 0.817 cubic meter

Volume of mortar = 1.062 _ 0.817 = 0.245 m3

Wet volume of mortar = 0.245 m3

Dry volume of mortar = 0.245×1.33 = 0.326 m3

Cement mortar ratio for 4.5 inch brick wall is 1:4 ( 1 part cement and 4 part is sand )

Total ratio = 1 + 4 = 5

Part of cement = 1/5

Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 1/5 × 0.326 m3 × 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 93.89 kg

Weight of 1 bag cement = 50 kg

Bags of cement = 93.89/50 = 1.88

That’s 531 pcs bricks and 1.88 bags of 50kg (or total 94 kg) of cement required for 100 sq ft brickwork of 4.5 inch brick wall.

How many bags of cement required for 100 sq ft brickwork of 9 inch brick wall

Given area of brickwork = 100 sq ft

Thickness of brick wall = 9 inch = 0.75′

Volume of brickwork = 100 × 0.75′ = 75 Cuft

We have to convert volume of brick cubic feet into cubic metre and we know that

35.3147 cu ft = 1 Cu m

75 cu ft = 2.124 cubic meter

Volume of brickwork = 2.124 cubic meter

Volume of indian brick size = 0.19 × 0.09 ×0.09 m3 = 0.001539 m3

Volume of 1 brick = 0.001539 m3

Thickness of mortar = 10 mm

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.2×0.1×0.1 m3 = 0.002 m3

No. of bricks = 2.124/0.002 = 1062 nos

Volume of all bricks without mortar = 1062 × 0.001539 = 1.634 cubic meter

Volume of mortar = 2.124 _ 1.634 = 0.49 m3

Wet volume of mortar = 0.49 m3

Dry volume of mortar = 0.49×1.33 = 0.6517 m3

Cement mortar ratio for 9 inch brick wall is 1:6 ( 1 part cement and 6 part is sand )

Total ratio = 1 + 6 = 7

Part of cement = 1/7

Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 1/7 × 0.6517 m3 × 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 134 kg

Weight of 1 bag cement = 50 kg

Bags of cement = 134/50 = 2.68

That’s 1062 pcs bricks and 2.68 bags of 50kg ( or total 134 kg) of cement are required for 100 sq ft (square feet) brickwork of 9 inch brick wall.

How many bags of cement required for 100 sq ft brickwork of 13.5 inch brick wall

Given area of brickwork = 100 sq ft

Thickness of brick wall = 13.5 inch = 1.125′

Volume of brickwork = 100 × 1.125 = 112.5 Cuft

We have to convert volume of brick cubic feet into cubic metre and we know that

35.3147 cu ft = 1 Cu m

112.5 cuft = 3.186 cubic meter

Volume of brickwork = 3.186 cubic meter

Volume of indian brick size = 0.19 × 0.09 ×0.09 m3 = 0.001539 m3

Volume of 1 brick = 0.001539 m3

Thickness of mortar = 10 mm

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.2×0.1×0.1 m3 = 0.002 m3

No. of bricks = 3.186/0.002 = 1593 nos

Volume of all bricks without mortar = 1593 × 0.001539 = 2.45 cubic meter

Volume of mortar = 3.186 _ 2.45 = 0.736 m3

Wet volume of mortar = 0.736 m3

Dry volume of mortar = 0.736 ×1.33 = 0.978 m3

Cement mortar ratio for 13.5 inch brick wall is 1:6 ( 1 part cement and 6 part is sand )

Total ratio = 1 + 6 = 7

Part of cement = 1/7

Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 1/7 × 0.978 m3 × 1440 kg/m3

Weight of cement = 201 kg

Weight of 1 bag cement = 50 kg

Bags of cement = 201/50 = 4

That’s 1593 pcs bricks and 4 bags of 50kg each (or total 200 kg) of cement are required for 100 sq ft brick work of 13.5 inch brick wall.

531, 1062 & 1593 nos bricks and 1.88, 2.68 & 4 bags of cement required for 100 square feet brickwork of 4.5 inch, 9 inch & 13.5 inch brick wall respectively.
