How to calculate number of tiles required for flooring and wall site

●How to calculate number of tiles required in flooring site ,how to calculate number of tiles required for any room and also know about number of tiles required for wall site

 For the tile estimate calculation the total number of tiles needed to cover and area of room should be installed with gap,  grout line between the two tiles make it better appearance ,the gap between two tiles is range between 1/8 inch to half inch.

Grout is in the form of concrete or other material.

 What are sizes of flooring tiles?

 The size of tiles ranges between smaller to larger it’s come in the shape of square and rectangular but square tile is most popular and  is being widely used. Size of tile may be 8×8,10×10,12×12,16×16and 24×24 inches.

We should use larger tiles having less grout line make the smaller room look larger.

 The classification of tile includes stone tiles, ceramic tiles ,porcelain tiles, glass tiles and Quarry tiles ,but porcelain and ceramic tiles are so costly and glass tiles may be break under the pressure so it can be better to use a stone tiles like marble and Granite for the flooring site of any room.

procedure for flooring tiles calculation

 ●(1) take the measurement of one side of room

 ● (2) take the measurement of other side of room

 ●( 3) calculate the area of each room and add the total area of room

 ●( 4) calculate the area  of 1 tile which are being used

 ● (5) to get the number of tiles required  for any room divide the total area of room by area of one tile

 ● (6) suppose wastage of tiles is 5% add it in total numbers of tiles hence total numbers of tiles calculate in flooring site.

How to calculate number of tiles required for flooring?

 ● Given dimension :-

 

Tile calculation

 

  For A1 room = 18’×16′ =288 sqft

   For A2 room = 16’×12′ = 192 sqft

    For A3 room = 16′ ×12′ = 192 sqft

   For A4 room = 18′ × 16′ = 288 sqft

 Size of one tile= 24”×24” = 4 sqft

 24″ = 2 feet

 ● Calculation :-

  Total area of all room = 288 +192 +192 +288

 Total area = 960 sqft

 Total area of 1 tile = 4 sqft

 Number of tile require = total area of room/ area of one tile

 Number of tile = 960 /4 = 240 

 Lat us consider 5% wastage of tile

 Wastage tile = 240×5/100 =12

 Hence total tiles require for flooring sites of the house having for  4 room 

  Number of tiles =240+12 =252 Ans.
