Labour rate for building construction in India, Hi guys in this article we know about labour rate for building construction, civil work and also know about plastering, brickwork, RCC work, PCC work, etc. per square foot or per square metre in india.

Labour rate & cost in civil construction depends on various factors 1) the type of building: whether residential/ commercial/institutional or industrial. 2) It depends on the type of construction: whether it is a RCC building or a steel building. 3)There are other factors also involved like : number of floors required. Loading on the floor, area where the building is to be constructed, soil conditions, site filling requirements etc.

Labour rate for building construction in India

Labour rate per square foot:– In india, Labour rate & cost per square foot is around 210 to 300 Rs for Residential/ commercial/ institutional building, it contains labour cost approx 140 to 200 Rs per square foot for building a structure or civil work and around 70 to 100 Rs per square foot for finishing like tiling, electrical fitting, plumbing fixture, painting and putty, door framing and fabrication and miscellaneous work like curing, repair, storage and security.

Labour rate per square meter:– In india, Labour rate & cost per square meter is around 2300 to 3200 Rs for Residential/commercial/ institutional building, it contains labour cost approx 1550 to 2150 Rs per square meter for building a structure or civil work and around 750 to 1050 Rs per square meter for finishing like tiling, electrical fitting, plumbing fixture, painting and putty, door framing and fabrication and miscellaneous work like curing, repair, storage and security.

In india, Labour rate for earthwork excavation is around 10 to 12 Rs per cft (cubic foot) or 354 to 424 Rs per cubic meter (m3). hydraulic excavator can excavate 240 m3 of soil in one day. Its cost per day including driver and fuel is Rs. 5000.

Labour cost for 1000 sq ft house:– in India for normal residential/ commercial/ public building, labour cost for house construction is around rs 210 to 300 per sq ft, labour cost for 1000 sq ft house = 210 × 1000 = rs 210000 or 300×1000 = rs300000, so labour cost for 1000 sq ft house is ranging between 2.1 lakh to 3 lakh, this amount is sum of labour cost for civil and finishing work plus shuttering charges and contractor profit.

Labour cost for 1200 sq ft house:– in India for normal residential/ commercial/ public building, labour cost for house construction is around rs 210 to 300 per sq ft, labour cost for 1000 sq ft house = 210 × 1200 = rs 252000 or 300×1200 = rs360000, so labour cost for 1200 sq ft house is ranging between 2.52 lakh to 3.6 lakh, this amount is sum of labour cost for civil and finishing work plus shuttering charges and contractor profit.

Labour cost for 1500 sq ft house:- in India for normal residential/ commercial/ public building, labour cost for house construction is around rs 210 to 300 per sq ft, labour cost for 1500 sq ft house = 210 × 1500 = rs 315000 or 300×1500 = rs450000, so labour cost for 1000 sq ft house is ranging between 3.15 lakh to 4.5 lakh, this amount is sum of labour cost for civil and finishing work plus shuttering charges and contractor profit.

Labour cost per 1000 bricks:- in India for normal residential/ commercial/ public building, labour cost for brick masonry is ranging between rs 26 to 32 per sq ft, there is 8.58 nos bricks in 1 sq ft of 9 inch thick brickwork, so area brickwork in 1000 bricks = 1000÷ 8.58= 116 sq ft, labour cost per 1000 bricks = 116 × 26 = rs 3016 or 116 × 32 = rs 3712, so average labour cost per 1000 bricks is ranging between rs 3000 to 3700.

In india,Labour rate for footing concrete is around 35 to 40 Rs per cft (cubic foot) or 1250 to 1400 Rs per cubic meter (m3).

In india, Labour rate for column concrete is around 50 to 60 Rs per cft (cubic foot) or 1750 to 2100 Rs per cubic meter (m3).

In india, Labour rate for RCC roof slab and beam concrete is around 50 to 60 Rs per cft (cubic foot) or 1750 to 2100 Rs per cubic meter (m3).

In india, Labour rate for RCC slope roof concrete is around 70 to 75 Rs per cft (cubic foot) or 2500 to 2650 Rs per cubic meter (m3).

In india, Labour rate for PCC concrete is around 30 to 35 Rs per sq ft (square foot) or 320 to 400 Rs per cubic meter (m3).

In india, Labour rate for bar bending of steel is around 7 to 12 Rs per kg or 7000 to 12,000 Rs per ton.

In india, Labour rate for block/brick work is around 20 to 35 Rs per square foot, it depends on thickness of block/ brick wall, for 8″ thick block/brick wall it will cost around rs 35/sq ft, for 6″ thick block/brick wall it will cost around rs 26/sq ft and for 4″ thick block/brick wall it will cost around rs 20/sq ft.

In india, Labour rate for plastering is around 12 to 25 Rs per square foot, it depends on thickness and types of plaster, for 20mm thick external wall plaster it will cost around 18 to 25 Rs per sq ft, for 12mm internal plaster it will cost around 15 to 18 Rs per sq ft and for 6mm thick ceiling/concrete wall plaster it will cost around 12 to 15 Rs per sq ft.

Building a structure there is different labour rate are following:- upto plinth level including footing =rs 50/ sq ft, upto 1st slab =rs 45/sq ft, brickwork = rs 25/sq ft, plaster = rs 20/sq ft and for finishing and miscellaneous is electrical fitting =rs 8/sq ft, plumbing fixtures = rs 15/sq ft, painting & putty = rs 10/sq ft, door, frame and fabrication = rs 10/sq ft, flooring = rs 20/ sq ft and for miscellaneous for curing, repair, storage and security = rs 5/sq ft.
