Weight of rectangular hollow section steel

Weight of rectangular hollow section steel | RHS weight calculator, in this topic we know about how to calculate weight of rectangular hollow section steel and its steel formula, we know that Steel bar have various shapes like rectangular bar, square bar ,pentagonal ,hexagonal octagonal steel bar.

Rectangular Steel tube per meter calculation mostly used in engineeringand construction.

Weight of rectangular steel tubing (RHS) is calculated by steel weight formula that is multiplication of unit weight of steel and its volume and also steel weight is calculated by help of various RHS weight calculator/ steel weight calculator.

We know that rectangular tubing Steel is type of ms bar and their is still density is 7850 kg/m3. And there is questions arises in our mind how calculate steel weight. For this solution we have require two measuring quantity first is unit weight of steel and second one is volume of steel

High tensile strength hollow section of Steel which is used widely in various industries for automotive, machinery, furniture and construction which section comes in various shape and size and finishes most common among them include rectangular hollow section (RHS) and square hollow section (SHS).

Size of rectangular hollow section (RHS)

Size of rectangular hollow section comes in wide range their minimum lateral dimension is about 26 mm × 13 mm and their maximum lateral dimension is about 400 mm × 200 mm and their thickness is also have wide range that is minimum thickness is about 0.8 mm and maximum thickness is about 12 mm and length of rectangular hollow section have also wide range comes in minimum of 4 metre and maximum 12 metre.

Size of square hollow section (SHS)

Size of square hollow section (SHS) comes in wide range their minimum lateral dimension is about 12 mm × 12 mm and their maximum lateral dimension is about 300 mm × 300 mm and their thickness is also have wide range that is minimum thickness is about 0.8 mm and maximum thickness is about 12 mm and length of square hollow section have also wide range comes in minimum of 4 metre and maximum 12 metre.

Uses of rectangular hollow section

Rectangular hollow section of Steel  widely used  and it is mainly used in construction machinery manufacturing, Steel construction project, building, ship building, steel structure, electrical engineering ,power plant, agriculture and chemical machinery ,glass curtain, car chassis, airport and so on   .

Weight of rectangular Steel tubing (RHS)

●1) given dimension:-

We have steel weight formula = Unit Weight of Steel × volume of Steel

Density of steel bar=7850kg/m3

Side length of surface A = 100mm = 0.1m, side length of surface B = 50mm = 0.05m, thickness t = 10mm = 0.01m, length of rectangular tube Steel bar such as L= 1m

How calculate steel weight

calculation:- to determine the weight of rectangular hollow section we use RHS weight calculator, as we know that weight of  Steel bar = volume of Steel × density of steel

Weight = Volume × density

Vt = total volume of Steel

Va = volume of surface A

Vb = volume of surface B

Hence Vt = Va + Vb

Vt = (Area of A×L) 2+ (Area of B×L)2

Vt = (0.1×0.01×1)2 m3 +{(0.05-0.01-0.01)0.01×1}2 m3

Note:- both surface of volume is multiply by 2

Vt = 0.002 m3 +(0.03×0.02) m3

Vt= 0.002 m3+0.0006 m3

Hence Vt = 0.0026 m3

Now weight = volume × density

Weight = 0.0026m3 × 7850kg/m3

Hence weight = 20.41 kg Ans.
