What is unit weight of 1 AAC Block and how we calculate

Weight of AAC block | what is unit weight of 1 AAC Block and how we calculate | full form of ACC block is Autoclaved aerated concrete. It is a lightweight, precast, foam concrete building material suitable for producing concrete masonry unit (CMU) like blocks. It is composed of quartz sand, calcined gypsum, lime, cement, water and aluminum powder.

In this article we know about what is unit weight of AAC Block and how we calculate, when we talk about weight of AAC Block, it is calculated by multiplying density (kg/m3) and volume (m3) of block. The regular size of AAC block is 600 mm × 200 mm × 100 mm and their volume is calculated 0.012 m3 and density 600 kg/m3, then weight of acc block is 0.012 m3 × 600 kg/m3 is equal to 7.2 Kg.

Unit weight/ density of AAC Block

Unit weight of AAC block is the ratio of  mass to unit volume, which is range between 550 to 650 kg/m3 in metric system and according to imperial and US customary measurement system it will be weigh around 34 – 40 lb/ft3. This is unit weight or density of AAC block.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete is an eco- friendly and certified green building material which is lightweight, load-bearing, high- insulating.

Meaning of AAC block is its products are cured under heat and pressure in an autoclave and there is presence of air in the mixture of ACC block and hard bearing good compressive strength like concrete that why it name is AAC block ( autoclaved aerated concrete).

And compressive strength of ACC block is about 3 to 4.5 N/mm2 and their normal dry density or unit weight is approx 550 – 650 Kg/m3 and wet density or unit weight is 800 Kg/m3.

Unit weight of ACC block:- generally AAC block weighs around 800 Kg per cubic meter in wet condition and in dry condition it will be weigh approximately 600 kg for one cubic meter.

AAC Block weight

Weight of AAC Block depending on their size, density and composition of raw material, generally their weight range from 6 to 20kg, for 3″ thick AAC block, it will be weigh around 6 to 7kg, 4″ thick weighs about 8 to 9kg, 5″ thick weighs about 10 to 11kg, 6″ thick weighs about 12 to 13kg, 7″ thick weighs about 14 to 15kg, 8″ thick weighs about 16 to 17kg, 9″ thick weighs about 18 to 19kg & 10″ thick aac block weighs about 20 to 21kg.

How to calculate unit weight of 1 AAC Block ?

Weight of AAC Block is determined by multiplying volume and their density, volume is calculated by multiplying its length, height and their thickness such as weight of 1 aac block = volume × density, we know dry density of aac block = 600 Kg/m3 & wet density = 800 Kg / m3.

Volume of AAC block is calculated by multiplying all three dimension length height and width such as volume of aac block = (L × H × B)
