The weight of 1 cubic foot (CFT) of sand depends on several factors like grain size, how it moist, source and types of rock, dry, wet and loose conditions. Natural sand collected from river basin & artificial sand (M sand) is manufactured sand by crushing of rocks.

The weight of sand is calculated on the basis of density of river sand and M sand (manufactured sand), natural sand is obtained from river Basin and artificial or manufactured sand is is obtained by crushing of stone in Crusher mill into fine particles.

Packed sand: density of packed sand in kg/m3 is 1682. Sand that has been packed manually or mechanically (compacted).

The typical weight of 1CFT (cubic foot) of dry packed sand is about 47kg (104-pound). 1m3 (35.32 CFT) of dry packed sand weighs about 1,682kg, so, weight of 1CFT of dry packed sand in kg = 1,600/ 35.32 = 47kg.

### Wet sand density and their weight

● Wet sand: density of wet sand in Kg/m3 is 1922. This is the sand that has been in a natural and naturally compressed environment that is now wet.

The typical weight of 1CFT (cubic foot) of wet sand is about 54kg (120-pound). 1m3 (35.32 CFT) of wet sand weighs about 1922kg, so, weight of 1CFT of wet sand in kg = 1922/ 35.32 = 54kg.

### Wet packed sand density and their weight

Wet packed sand: 2082 kg / m3. This is compacted sand that is also almost saturated with water.

The typical weight of 1CFT (cubic foot) of wet packed sand is about 59kg (130-pound). 1m3 (35.32 CFT) of wet packed sand weighs about 2,082kg, so, weight of 1CFT of wet packed sand in kg = 2,082/ 35.32 = 59kg.

Dry loose Bulk density of Sand is about 1600 kg/cum, 1 cum sand weighs 1600 kgs, we know 1m3 = 35.32 CFT, so 35.32 cft = 1600 kgs,1 cft sand weight = 1,600/ 35.32 kgs = 45.3 kgs, so 1 cft of sand would weigh around 45 kgs.

In general, 1 CFT of river sand weighs about 47 kg, while 1 CFT of M sand weighs about 49.5 kg. Likewise, a 1 CFT of dry sand weighs about 45 kg, while a 1 CFT of wet sand weighs about 54 kg. In addition, a 1 CFT of loose dry sand weighs about 40 kg.
