Cement mortar calculation in tile work of 100 sq.ft area and Cement calculation in tile work of 100 sq.ft area and how we calculate consumption of cement in fixing of wall tiles at wall site.
In this topic we find cement sand calculation in tile work of 100 sq.ft area and we know that the tile is thin object material usually comes in the shape of square and rectangular and it is made of hard material like ceramic ,stone and used for generally covering of roof ,floors and wall.
flooring tiles, wall tiles and wall tile for kitchen
A tile is thin object usually Square or rectangular in shape and size of hard bearing material such as ceramic, stone ,metal and backed clay and even glass. Generally tiles is used as covering of roofs , as wall tiles ,flooring tile, wall tile for kitchen and wall tile for bathroom.
Tiles are often used for wall and floor covering and range from simple square tiles to complex one. Tiles are most often made of ceramic glazed for internal use and unglazed for roofing. Roof tiles design mainly to keep out rain and heat and traditionally made from locally available material such as clay soile, granite and Terracotta or slate in modern technology concrete glass and plastic are used in roof tiles.
Flooring tiles designs are commonly made of ceramic or stone and recent Technology have resulted in glass tile for floor as well. Ceramic tiles may be painted and glazed.
Wall tiles is also used for decoration of wall tile for kitchen and wall tile for bathroom
Wall tile installation process
● Wall tile installation:– we know that wall tile installation process require adhesive material like clay of cement and cement mortar for laying of tiles at wall site.
First we mix sand and cement and form mortar ,after preparing mortar work there is a coating and adhesive material of clay of cement for tile fixing for wall site. we have to calculate cement mortar quantity.
What is cement mortar thickness in tile work
● Thickness of cement mortar:-
thickness of cement mortar used in wall tile installation is thinner than floor tile installation and thickness for cement mortar in wall tile is about 1 inch and in floor tiles is about 1.5 inch. So cement calculation in tile work of 100 sq.ft area
● what is admixture of concrete and its types and properties.
Quantity of cement mortar for wall tile installation of 100 sq.ft
Now cement sand calculation in tile work of 100 square feet we have given following:-
Area=100 sqft , thickness = 1 inch
First we should calculate wet volume of cement mortar
Wet volume = area × thickness
Wet volume=100×1/12 Cu.ft (12″=1 ft)
Wet volume = 8.333 cft
We know that volume increased by 33% in case of dry volume calculation so we multiply cofactor 1.33 in wet volume for calculation of dry volume.
Dry volume =8.333×1.33 = 11.08 cft
What is cement mortar ratio in tile fixing
● Mix ratio:- Generally wall tile fixing ratio of cement sand used in wall tile installation is 1 ratio 2 (1:2)
Cement sand ratio for flooring is 1:2, made of mixture of cement, sand and water in which one part is cement and two parts is sand necessary for wall tile installation.
Cement/sand = 1:2, total R =1+2 = 3
Part of cement = 1/3
Part of sand = 2/3
Cement mortar calculation in tile fixing
Volume of cement=part of C× Dv/tatal R
Putting all the value we get
Volume of cement= 1×11.08/3 =3.694cft
And also 20% extra amount of cement required for adhesive material and coating
20% extra cement=3.694×20/100= 0.738cft
Hence total cement require for 100 square feet wall tile installation is:-
Total volume of cement=3.694+0.738cft
Total volume of cement = 4.43 cft
We know that 1 bag cement is equal to 1.226 cft
1bag cement volume=1.226 cft
Number of bag of cement=4.43/1.226=3.6
A typical tile flooring requires 3.6 bags of 50 kg cement for 100 square feet tilling. Thus, 3.6 bags ( 180 kg) cement required for wall tile installation in 100 square feet area.
● Quantity calculation of sand:- cement sand calculation in tile work of 100 sq. ft area ,in mix ratio 1:2 quantity of sand is 2 part in mix proportion
Volume of sand=2×16.625/3 cft
Volume of sand = 7.386 cft
Typically, 3.6 bags of 50kg (or 180 Kg) of cement and 7.386 CFT sand are required for wall tile installation of 100 sq.ft area.
Tiles are used as flooring tiles ,flooring tiles designs, wall tiles, wall tile for kitchen and wall tiles for bathroom and tiles for roof.
How many cement in 1 square meter tiles
Suppose you are installing tile floor of 1 square meter of tile size 600 × 600 mm. Area of one 600 × 600 tile = 0.6m × 0.6m = 0.36 sqm.
To find number of 600 × 600 mm tiles per square meter simply divide the area of tiles floor by area of 1 tile i.e no. of tiles = 1/0.36= approx. 3 tiles.
As given area of tile floor is about 1 square meter and thickness of mortar is 40mm, then wet volume of mortar = 1 × 0.04 = 0.04m3, now dry volume = 0.04 × 1.33 = 0.0532 m3.
Required sand quantity per m2 tiles = 2/3 × 0.0532 × 1440 = 26 kg, taking 20% used as adhesive, 26 × 25% = 6kg, so total is 26 +6 = 32kg, or in bags 32/50 = 0.64 bags.
Required cement quantity per m2 tiles = 2/3 × 0.0532 × 1600 = 57 kg, or 1.25 CFT sand.
Typically, 32 kg of cement (0.64 bags of 50kg cement) or 57 kg (1.25 CFT) of sand are required for 1 square meter tiles. A typical 1 square meter tiles requires 32 kg of cement and 57 kg of sand.
How many cement in 1 square meter tiles? In 1 square meter of tiles there are about 0.64 bags with 50 kg of cement or 32 kg of cement and 57 kg (1.25 CFT) sand.

Hi i was following on this formula but there are some figures am sure about, kindly shed more light on it.
Volume of sand=2×16.625/3 cft
Volume of sand = 7.386 cft
Thanks
Hi, there are figures on this formula that are clear, kindly shed more light on it
Volume of sand=2×16.625/3 cft
Volume of sand = 7.386 cft
Hi there, this formular is not clear, when i use the figures used am getting different results, kindly expaund on it
Volume of sand=2×16.625/3 cft
Volume of sand = 7.386 cft
I think it Should be
Volume Of Sand = 2*11.08/ cft
Volume OF Sand = 7.38 cft
its typing Mistake
