First we mix sand and cement and form mortar ,after preparing mortar work there is a coating and adhesive material of clay of cement for tile fixing for floor and wall site.

Thickness of cement mortar:-
thickness of cement mortar used in flooring tile installation is thicker than wall tile installation and thickness for cement mortar in flooring tile is about 1.5 inch and in wall tiles is 1 inch.

Now cement sand calculation for tile of 100 square feet we have given following:-

Area=100 sqft , thickness = 1.5 inch

First we should calculate wet volume of cement mortar

Wet volume = area ×thickness
Wet volume=100×1.5/12 Cu.ft (12″=1 ft)
Wet volume = 12.5 cft

We know that volume increased by 33% in case of dry volume calculation so we multiply cofactor 1.33 in wet volume for calculation of dry volume.

Dry volume =12.5×1.33 = 16.625 cft

mix ratio:- generally flooring tile fixing ratio of cement sand used in flooring tile installation is 1 ratio 3 (1:3)

Cement/sand = 1:3, total R =1+3 = 4

Volume of cement=part of C× Dv/tatal R
Putting all the value we get
Volume of cement= 1×16.625/4 =4.156cft

And also 20% extra amount of cement required for adhesive material and coating

20% extra cement=4.156×20/100=0.83125 cft
Hence total cement require for 100 square feet flooring tile installation is

Total volume of cement=4.156+0.83125cft
Total volume of cement=4.987 cft

We know that 1 bag cement is equal to 1.226 cft
1bag cement volume=1.226 cft

Number of bag of cement=4.987/1.226=4

Hence we have require 4 bag of cement for flooring tile installation in 100 square feet area.

● quantity calculation of sand:- in mix ratio 1:3 quantity of sand is 3 part in mix proportion

Volume of sand=3×16.625/4 cft
Volume of sand = 12.468 cft

calculate quantity of cement mortar for flooring tile installation of 1000 sq. ft area

Solve:-

Flooring tile instalation required for 100 sq.ft

Cement quantity = 4 bags cement

Sand required = 12.468 cubic feet

Hence flooring tile instalation required for 1000 sq.ft

A) cement quantity calculation

100 sq. ft = 4 bags cement

1 sq. ft = 4/100 bags cements

1000 sq. ft = 1000(4/100) bags cement

1000 sq. ft = 40 bags cement

Hence flooring tiles fixing or installation of 1000 sq. ft required approx 40 bags of cement

B) Sand volume calculation in cft

100 sq. ft tile fixing = 12.468 cubic ft sand

1 sq. ft = 12.468/100 cubic ft sand

1000 sq. ft = 1000 ( 12.468/100) cft sand

1000 sq. ft required= 124.68 cft sand

Hence Hence flooring tiles fixing or installation of 1000 sq. ft required approx 124.68 cubic ft sand.

(Q3) calculate quantity of cement mortar for flooring tile installation of 2000 sq. ft area

Solve:-

Flooring tile instalation required for 100 sq.ft

Cement quantity = 4 bags cement

Sand required = 12.468 cubic feet

Hence flooring tile instalation required for 2000 sq.ft

A) cement quantity calculation

100 sq. ft = 4 bags cement

1 sq. ft = 4/100 bags cements

2000 sq. ft = 2000(4/100) bags cement

2000 sq. ft = 80 bags cement

Hence flooring tiles fixing or installation of 2000 sq. ft required approx 80 bags of cement

B) Sand volume calculation in cft

100 sq. ft tile fixing = 12.468 cubic ft sand

1 sq. ft = 12.468/100 cubic ft sand

2000 sq. ft = 2000 ( 12.468/100) cft sand

2000 sq. ft required= 249.36 cft sand

Hence Hence flooring tiles fixing or installation of 2000 sq. ft required approx 249.36 cubic ft sand.

4 number of bags ( 200 Kg ) of cement and 12.468 cft sand quantity required for floor tile installation of 100 sq.ft
