Binding wire required for 1 ton Steel as per IS code

Binding wire required for 1 ton Steel as per IS code, hi guys in this article we know about binding wire required for 1 ton (1000kg) steel and how much binding wire is required for Steel.

There is no a specific method given in IS code for calculating how much binding wire required for 1 ton Steel, but there is Thumb Rule whitch is approximate and experience based calculation of quantity of binding wire.

Binding wire are used as a tool to bind reinforcement to each other so that while placing of concrete does not result any movement of reinforcement other than intended.

As you know Binding Wire is used for the purpose of tying applications in the field of construction civil engineering. It is used extensively in the building construction sector for tying the rebars in beam, column, footing ,shuttering and slab at the joints so as to keep the structure intact. Binding wire is also called annealed wire and is made of mild steel.

Binding Wire is made of mild steel used for the purpose shuttering, tie of rebar in slab footing and tying applications in the field of civil construction.

Questions is how much binding wire is required for 1000kg or 1 tonSteel? generally 100 kg of Steel require 0.9 kg to 1.3 kg of binding wire, so means 1000 kg or 1 ton steel required 9 kg to 13 kg binding wire.

It is used extensively in the building construction sector for tying the rebars at the joints so as to keep the structure intact. Binding wire is also called annealed wire and is made of mild steel.

How much binding wire required for 1 ton Steel as per IS code

Basically binding wire requirement depends on many factors, these factors are following:

● 1) diameter of rebar used in slab, beam, column and footing, the rebar which have higher diameter require less amount of binding wire for tie and lesser diameter of rebar require more quantity of binding wire, it means 8mm rebar required more quantity of binding wire than 10mm 12mm 16mm and 20mm bar.

● 2) quantity of binding wire required for 1 ton Steel also depend on C/C distance between the rebars of column, beam slab and footing and more C/C distance between the rebar require less quantity of binding wire and less C/C distance between the rebar required more quantity of binding wire

● 3) the gauge of binding wire used, and single cross or double Cross binding adapted and wastage related to effective supervision.

Now discuss about binding wire required for tie of 1000 kg or 1 ton Steel, we have several point mention here:

● 0.9 kg to 1.3 kg of binding wire required for tie of 100 kg or 1 quintal Steel as per IS code, in IS code it is not clear how much binding wire is required for tie of rebar, but it is calculated according to Thumb Rule and experienced basis.

● 9 kg to 13 kg of binding wire is required for tie of 1000 kg or 1 ton steel.

● 12 kg of binding wire required to tie 1000 kg or 1 Ton of 8 mm steel bar.

● 7 kg of Binding wire required to tie 1 Ton of 28 mm or 32 mm steel rebars.

● 9 kg to 13 kg of binding wire is required for tie of 1000 kg or 1 ton steel as per IS Code.

● 12 kg to 13 kg binding wire is required for 1000 kg or 1 ton of 8mm -16mm steel rebar.

● 7 kg to 9 kg binding wire is required for 1000 kg or 1 ton of 16mm -32mm steel rebar.

More the diameter of the rebar, lesser the requirement of binding wire. You can procure binding wire depending on the requirement. Approximately it is taken as 9 to 13 kg of binding wire per ton.

Usage of more wires means increase in the dead load as well as wastage of cost and time which may not be necessary.

I was searching the the thickness of binding wise and method for binding rebar as per IS Code, but not found.

Can you provide IS Code reference for the same
