We have choice to use tiles and marble for surface flooring, mostly tiles are used for bathroom toilet and kitchen. Due to smoothness and wide range of variety of attractive tiles available in market we use tiles for flooring.

Large format tiles lend a more spacious look to space. It is advised to match tiles to room size. If the room is small, and you use large size tiles on the floor, then the room will look even smaller.

For such a room, it is recommended to go for medium format size tiles like (250×350) mm. Also, it’s a good idea to option for the size that entails a minimal amount of cutting and wastage. Example:- If you have a room that is (7×5) ft, then pick a tile that is a multiple of the size of the room.

Tiles these days are available in a wide range of sizes. Some popular sizes for floors include (300×600) mm, (600×600) mm, (610×610) mm and (800×800) mm. Wall tiles generally come in sizes of (250×350) mm, (300×450) mm, and (300×600) mm.

For example, if you wanted to use 18 X 18 inch tile pieces, which equals 2.25 sq. ft, and the total square footage of your room is 300 sq ft, then you would divide 300 by 2.25, which would equal 134 pieces.

How many square feet is a 18×18 tile? for clarification, (1) 18×18 tile covers 2.25 square foot such as 1.5×1.5 = 2.25 sq ft, and the term “18×18” actually refers to the length and width of the tile in inches.

For a 100 square foot tile project, you will need to install a total of 45 18×18 tiles. But some tiles could be damaged during transport or installation or maybe otherwise unusable. It’s customary to purchase an additional 15 percent above the exact calculated amount of tile. 45 (18×18 tiles) times 15% equals 52 tiles.

The extra tiles will help ensure that you have enough tiles on hand to finish the project even if some of the tiles you purchased cannot be installed for any reason.

If you choose 18×18 (18 by 18 inch) tiles, each tile would cover 2.25 square feet (324/ 144). If the area of your wall or floor is 100 square feet, you would need 45 tiles at minimum to cover the area (100 / 2.25 = 45).

To cover a 100 square foot tile project, you will need to install a total of 45 18×18 tiles. Extra tiles needed 15% of total such as 15℅ of 45 = 7, add this 45 +7 = 52. Thus, approximately 52 nos or 18 box of 3 pcs of 18×18 tiles you needed to cover 100 square feet area of room or patio.

How many 18×18 tiles do i need for 200 square feet

If you choose 18×18 (18 by 18 inch) tiles, each tile would cover 2.25 square feet (324/ 144). If the area of your wall or floor is 200 square feet, you would need 90 tiles at minimum to cover the area (200 /2.25 = 90).

For a 200 square foot tile project, you will need to install a total of 89 18×18 tiles. Extra tiles needed 15% of total such as 15℅ of 89 = 15, add this 89 +15 = 104. Thus, approximately 104 nos or 35 box of 5 pcs of 18×18 tiles you needed to cover 200 square feet area of room or patio.

To cover a 100 square foot tile project, you will need to install a total of 45 18×18 tiles. Always add @15% extra tiles damaged during transport or installation or maybe otherwise unusable.
