The quantity of cement required for a specific grade of concrete, such as M25, depends on factors like the mix proportions, water-cement ratio, and the volume of concrete needed. A common mix proportion for M25 is 1:1:2 (cement: sand: aggregates). As a rough estimate, you can use around 550 kg (11 bags of 50kg each) of cement per cubic meter of concrete for M25 grade.
We want to know how many bags of cement are required in concrete grade M25 and cement bags required for M25 grade concrete. In M 25 grade concrete, M is stand for mix and 25 stand for compressive strength of concrete (25 N/mm2) gain in curing time of 28 days casting.
Concrete is a composite mixture consisting of cement, sand and aggregate. design of the concrete grade mix is a procedure to find the correct quantities of cement sand and aggregate materials to achieve the desired compressive strength. precise design of the concrete grade mix makes concrete construction more economical.
Large commercial and industrial building and other structure such as bridges and dams, require an enormous amount of concrete, and the right amount of constituents like cement sand and aggregate makes the structure economical.
To calculate or find the right amount of cement bags sand needed in M 25 of 1m3 of concrete, you need to know M 25 grade concrete ratio of concrete
There is two types of concrete grade mix nominal mix and design mix, nominal mix is used for lower grade of concrete like M5, M 10, M15, M20 and M 25 grade concrete but higher grade concrete have M25, M30 and so more, M 25 grade concrete is prepared by both type of mix design nominal mix and design mix.
But in this topic we discuss about nominal mix of M 25 grade concrete in which M 25 grade concrete ratio 1:1:2 (one part cement one part sand and two part is aggregate) is used in calculation of how many bags of cement in M25.
M25 grade concrete mix design is based on various types of load acting on compressive and tensile structure of building sharing and bending moment, and M25 grade concrete ratio is decided by calculating and considering all factors.
What is concrete grade?
The concrete grades are defined by the compressive strength and composition of cement, sand and aggregate in the concrete and the minimum strength that the concrete must have gain after 28 days of the curing period of initial construction.
The degree of concrete is understood in the measurements of compressive strength in MPa, where M is stand for mix, and MPa indicates the characteristics of compressive strength.
According to compressive strength concrete grades are M5, M7.5,M10,M15,M20,M25,M30 and so many more. But in this topic we have to discuss about concrete grade m25 and how many bags of cement in m25.
What is grade concrete m 25?
Concrete grade m25 is type of grade of concrete that would achieve a compressive strength of 25 N / mm2 after 28 days of curing period of initial construction.
M25 grade concrete characteristics of compressive strength is 25 N/mm2 and M stand for mix.

What is M25 grade concrete ratio ?
M25 grade concrete is made by mixing cement, sand and coarse aggregates in a 1: 1: 2 ratio ( 1 part is cement,1 part is sand and 2 part is cement) in which keeping the water-cement ratio between 0.4 and 0.6.
M25 grade concrete ratio is 1:1:2 ( mixture of cement, fine aggregates and course aggregate) is used for cement bags required for m25 grade concrete.
The degree of preparation of the concrete is selected based on the m25 grade concrete mix design. There are two types of concrete grade mixes, nominal mix, and design mix.
Nominal mix concrete grade is that generally used for small-scale construction and small residential buildings where the consumption of concrete ( cement sand and aggregate) is not high.
The nominal mix takes care of the safety factor against several quality control problems that usually occur during the preparation of the concrete.
Design mixing concrete is one for which mixing rates of cement sand and aggregate are obtained in various laboratory tests considering various types of load acting on structure member of building. use of shotcrete requires good quality control during the selection, mixing, transportation, and placement of the concrete.
How many bags of cement in concrete grade m25 ?
Suppose wet volume of concrete = 1m3
Dry volume of concrete = 1 × 1.54 = 1.54 m3
we know that wet volume have voids and pore which filled with water and bubbles it can be remove by vibrator or compressor machine so more quantity of material is required.
dry volume means mixture of cement sand and aggregates concrete in dry condition have more voids and pores that are evaporated in wet condition and volume is decrease by 54 percent in wet condition and volume of dry concrete in increased by 54% , so we can multiply 1.54 in wet volume to calculate dry volume
Dry volume = 1.54 m3
m25 grade concrete ratio = 1:1:2 ( 1 part cement, 1 part sand and two part aggregate)
Total proportion = 1+1+2 = 4
Part of cement = 1/4
Density of cement in Kg/m3 = 1440
Quantity of cement required for m25 grade concrete
Weight = (1/4) 1.54 m3 × 1440 kg/m3
Weight of cement = 554.4 kg
1 cement bag weight = 50 kg
Number of cement bags required for m25 grade concrete
Cement bags = 554 kg/50 = 11.088
11 number of cement bags required for m25, 1m3 (cubic metre) grade of concrete.
