Sand weight is calculated on the basis of density of river sand and M sand (manufactured sand), natural sand is obtained from river Basin and artificial or manufactured sand is is obtained by crushing of stone in Crusher mill into fine particles.
The sand which are collected from river basin known as river sand, it is find sand. And the sand which are collected by crushing of stones are known as M sand (manufactured sand). Sand is not only required for preparing RCC, mortar and plaster but also used for filling and flooring too.
Generally density of M sand is more than compared to River sand. 1 CFT sand weight in kg generally depend on many factors like wet, dry, loose & packed sand condition.
Sand are used as construction material in Building, Bridge, dams Construction aggregate, or simply aggregate, is a broad category of coarse- to medium-grained particulate material used in construction, including sand, gravel, crushed stone, slag, recycled concrete and geosynthetic aggregates. Sand or fine aggregate are the most mined materials in the world.
One unit of sand is equal as 100 cubic feet or 1 brass. One unit of sand = 1 brass which is equal to 100 cubic feet volume and it is also used as measuring of surface area of 100 square foot. 100 cft is equal to 1unit of sand hence 100cft = 1unit
The terms “unit” is used locally in tamilnadu for measuring majorly for sand, 20mm aggregate (mukka jally), 40mm aggregate(1.5″ jally).
