How to calculate weight of square steel tube in kg and weight of square Steel tubing. we know that square shaped Steel had various shape like Steel Tube steel pipe and steel bar we have to calculate weight of square steel tube per metre.
In this article we know about how to calculate weight of square Steel tube in kg. Square hollow section of Steel is ms steel and their steel weight is easily calculated by using steel weight formula and there is so many steel weight calculator that’s find easily and calculate steel weight.
Unit weight of steel is 7850 kg/m3. When we try to find steel weight formula we have require to measurement of ms steel their volume and their Steel density.
Uses of square hollow section Steel
You know that steel have many shape and size like square, rectangular , Octagonal,pentagonal etc. And Square steel pipe used in various civil work building construction and manufacturing of machine and in structural designing of a structural member of building.

Type of square shape steel
Square shape Steel bar comes in two shapes and size they are categorised according to solid and tube section of steel
1) solid square Steel bar
2) square hollow section steel

Steel weight formula
Weight of square steel tubing is calculated with the help of steel weight formula by multiplying unit Weight of steel and volume of steel.
For calculating the weight of square tube or hollow square shape steel bar
Weight of steel = volume of steel ×unit weight of steel
Weight of square hollow section steel
●Given dimension:-
we should convert all dimensional measurement in metre
Surface A side lenght=50mm =0.05m
Surface B side lenght=50mm =0.05m
Thickness. t=10mm =0.01m
Lenght. L=1m
Density of steel D=7850 kg/m3
● calculation:-
Weight=volume×Density
Total volume of square tube Steel bar is sum of volume of surface A and volume of surface B twice time or multiply by 2
Vt= total volume
Va = volume of surface area A
Vb = volume of surface area B
Hence Vt=Va+Vb
Va=(0.05×0.01×1)2 m3
Va=0.001m3
Vb={(0.05-0.01-0.01)0.01}2
Vb=0.03×0.01×2
Vb=0.0006m3
● Note:- for the surface B side dimension of thickness is 10 mm so upper and lower both sides 10 mm is decreased from 50 mm dimension
Hence Vt=Va+Vb
=0.001m3+0.0006m3
Hence Weight=Volume×density
W=0.0016m3×7850kg/m3
=12.56 Kg Ans.
