Rod weight per meter: 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 16mm, 20mm & 25mm steel bar

Rod weight per meter: 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 16mm, 20mm & 25mm steel bar | 12mm steel rod weight per meter | 10mm steel rod weight per meter | 8mm steel rod weight per meter | 16mm steel rod weight per meter | 20mm steel rod weight per meter | 6mm steel rod weight per meter | 25mm steel rod weight per meter | 32mm steel rod weight per meter.

Rod or steel bar also known as Rebar is short form of reinforcing bar, it is steel Rod or Steel wire provided as tension bar in concrete structure, used in reinforced concrete structure such as column, beam and slab of house construction and it also used in reinforced masonry structure. It is used to increase the tensile strength of concrete structure.

Rod or steel bars or Reinforcing bar/rebar surface is often deformed with ribs to promote a better bonding with concrete material and reduce the risk of slippage. The most common Rods or Reinforcing bar/ rebar is carbon steel of hot rolled round bar with the deformation patterns, the Steel rebar/ Rod may be also coated with epoxy resin material, design to resist effect of corrosion mostly in saltwater environment.

As we know that different countries in the world have their own gradation, specification of Steel and record of measurement for reinforcing bar or Rods. First remember that rebar is measured differentially in United States and Europe. while the United states, it uses the Imperial measurement system. Europe and most of rest of world uses the metric system and measured in mm.

In this article we briefly explain Rod weight per meter: 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 16mm, 20mm & 25mm steel bar and know about 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm & 32mm steel rod weight per meter. This will help to viewers in better understanding and it is easy to choose the most suitable rebar or Rod weight per meter you wanted according to requirement.

Let us first know about length of one piece of rod or steel bar, generally in India full length of one Steel bar or rod which are used in construction are available in 12 meter or approximately 40 feet long.

Rod weight per meter: 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 16mm, 20mm & 25mm steel bar

To calculate steel rod weight per meter, use the formula D^2L/162 to figure out unit weight or mass of rod in kg per meter, where D is the diameter of steel rod and L is the unit length for 1 meter and numerical figure 162 is the thumb rule number which is derived. For example 12mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (12×12×1) ÷ 162 = 0.89kgs/m, hence 0.89 kg is the 12mm steel rod weight per meter.

Rod weight per meter:- generally we use the formula D^2L/162 to calculate weight of rod or steel bar per unit length such as in kg per meter. Generally, 6mm steel rod weight around 0.222 kgs per meter, 8mm is 0.395 kgs, 10mm is 0.617 kg, 12mm is 0.89 kgs, 16mm is 1.58 kgs, 20mm is 2.47 kgs, 25mm is 3.86 kgs, 32mm is 6.32 kgs and 40mm is 9.87 kgs. This is theoretical weight of rod per meter.

6mm steel rod weight per meter:- using the formula D^2L/162 to calculate rod weight kg/m, generally, 6mm steel rod weight around 0.222kg per meter. Mathematical calculation such as 6mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (6×6×1) ÷ 162 = 0.222kgs/m, hence 0.222 kg is the weight of 6mm steel rod per meter.

8mm steel rod weight per meter:- using the formula D^2L/162 to calculate rod weight kg/m, generally, 8mm steel rod weight around 0.395kg per meter. Mathematical calculation such as 8mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (8×8×1) ÷ 162 = 0.395kgs/m, hence 0.395 kg is the weight of 8mm steel rod per meter.

10mm steel rod weight per meter:- using the formula D^2L/162 to calculate rod weight kg/m, generally, 10mm steel rod weight around 0.617kg per meter. Mathematical calculation such as 10mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (10×10×1) ÷ 162 = 0.617kgs/m, hence 0.617 kg is the weight of 10mm steel rod per meter.

12mm steel rod weight per meter:- using the formula D^2L/162 to calculate rod weight kg/m, generally, 12mm steel rod weight around 0.89kg per meter. Mathematical calculation such as 12mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (12×12×1) ÷ 162 = 0.89kgs/m, hence 0.89 kg is the weight of 12mm steel rod per meter.

16mm steel rod weight per meter:- using the formula D^2L/162 to calculate rod weight kg/m, generally, 16mm steel rod weight around 1.58kg per meter. Mathematical calculation such as 16mm steel rod weight per meter = D^2L/162, (16×16×1) ÷ 162 = 1.58kgs/m, hence 1.58 kg is the weight of 16mm steel rod per meter.
