In UK and other European countries such as France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, spain, standard single lane width of road is varies 2.5m to 3.65m (8 to 12 feet) wide. In UK as per the Highways Agency’s guidance, standard width of single lane is 3.65m, a 3.7m width for a single dualcarriageway lane and 3.65m for other road types. But, in practice, this varies considerably, where narrower lane are allowed or where lane are widened to allow for turning circle of heavy vehicles.
