In UK and other European countries such as France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, spain, as per standard, width of single lane road or a car lane is varies 2.5m to 3.65m (8 to 12 feet) wide. In UK as per the Highways Agency’s guidance, standard width of single lane is 3.65m wide, a 3.7m width for a single dual carriageway lane and 3.65m for other road types. But, in practice, this varies considerably, where narrower lane are allowed or where lane are widened to allow for turning circle of heavy vehicles.

As per current Australian and New Zealand practice, the current standard for the width of a single Lane Road or pavement in Australia is typically about 3.5m or 11.5 feet wide.
