The minimum and standard sizes for concrete elements depend on various factors such as the load they need to support, local building codes, and engineering requirements. As a general guideline:
1. Slab: minimum thickness for residential slabs: 4 inches (10 cm) and standard thickness: 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) for most residential applications.
2. Beam: minimum dimensions depend on the loads and span and standard dimensions vary but commonly range from 9×12 inches (23×30 cm) to larger sizes.
3. Column: minimum dimensions depend on the loads and standard dimensions vary but commonly range from 12×12 inches (30×30 cm) and up.
4. Foundation: minimum thickness depends on soil conditions and standard thickness for residential footings: 8-12 inches (20-30 cm).

Column, foundation, beam and slab are load bearing structure of building, provided with good amount of concreting material with steel/ reinforcement bar, increasing their strength yet it resist all type of load axial load and Lateral load acting on structure.
Minimum and standard size of RCC concrete structure like slab, beam column and foundation, quantity of steel, minimum of steel bar and provided in RCC structure like column, beam slab, foundation of footing are depend on design structure and calculating all type of load acting on it.
Minimum & standard size of concrete slab, beam, column and foundation
Minimum size of the RCC column:- each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, minimum size/cross-sectional dimension of RCC column should not be less than 9″×9″ (230mm×230mm) for 1 storey/ G+0/ single floor/ground floor building provided with 4nos of 12mm of dia of Fe500 and stirrup T8@6″C/C and use of M20 grade of concrete with 40mm cover and minimum cross-sectional dimension/ size of RCC column 9″×12″ (230mm×300mm) is used for 2 storey/G+1/two floor building provided with 6nos of 12mm of dia of Fe500 and stirrup T8@6″C/C and use of M20 grade of concrete with 40mm cover.
Minimum quantity of steel bar required for RCC column:– each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, for cross dimensional size 9″×9″ (230mm×230mm) rcc column, minimum reinforcement/ Steel bar required is 4nos of 12mm of dia of Fe500 and stirrup T8@6″C/C and for cross dimensional size 9″×12″ (230mm×300mm) rcc column, minimum reinforcement/ Steel bar required is 6nos of 12mm of dia of Fe500 and stirrup T8@6″C/C.
Minimum grade of concrete required for RCC column:- each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, the minimum grade of concrete required for layout of RCC column is nominal mix of M20 grade of concrete with ratio 1:1.5:3, in which one part is cement, 1.5 part is sand and 3 part is aggregate.
Minimum size of Stirrup used in RCC column:– each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, the minimum size of stirrup used in RCC column is T8@6″C/C of Fe500 grade of steel, but in practical stirrup size T6@6″C/C also be used.
Minimum grade of Steel used in RCC column:- each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, minimum grade of Steel used in RCC column is Fe500 HYSD steel bar.
The standard size of RCC column:- The size of the columns depends on the total load on the columns. Using thumb rule, the standard column size should be 9″×12″ (230mm×300mm) are to be used for a two story/G+1 building, provided concrete grade M20 (1: 1.5: 3) structure (cement: sand: aggregate), 6nos of 12mm of dia of Fe500 and stirrup T8@6″C/C with 40mm cover.
Minimum size of the RCC beam:- each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, minimum size/cross-sectional dimension of RCC beam should not be less than 9″×9″ (230mm×230mm) with the addition of a 125mm slab thickness provided use of M20 grade of concrete with 2nos of T12 at bottom as tension bar and T10 at top as copression bar of Fe500 HYSD with stirrup T8@6″C/C with 40mm cover.
The standard size of RCC beam:- each element of RCC have certain rules for standard requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, using thumb rule, in a residential building it is 9 ʺ × 12 ʺ (230mm × 300mm) standard size of rcc beam, provided use of M20 grade of concrete with 2nos of T12 at bottom as tension bar, 2 nos of T10 at top as copression bar and 2nos of T12 as crank bar of Fe500 HYSD with stirrup T8@6″C/C with 40mm cover.
Minimum thickness of RCC slab:- Generally, thickness of RCC slab should be kept 4″ to 6″ (100mm to 150mm), but most common is 5 inch (125mm) thick rcc slab can be used in casting. each element of RCC have certain rules for minimum requirements. There is a certain rules and guidelines, As per IS 456:2000, minimum thickness of RCC slab is 4 inch (100mm) thick provided with T10 as main reinforcement and T8 as distribution reinforcement of Fe500 grade of Steel with using M20 concrete
I recommended to use minimum thickness of RCC slab is 5″ (125mm) because a slab may contain electrical pipes embedded into them which could be 0.5″ or more for internal wiring, which effectively reduces slab depths at certain places, causing cracking, weakening and water leakage during rains. So, a minimum thickness of 5″ should be maintained.
Minimum size of foundation of footing:- using thumb rule, minimum size of foundation of footing for a 2 storey/G+1 normal residential building, where soil safe bearing capacity is 30 tonnes per square meter, and the oncoming load on the column does not exceed 30 tonnes, a size of foundation of footing 1m x 1m (1000mm×1000mm) should be used. Minimum depth of foundation of footing should be atleast 3′ (1m or 1000mm) below ground level provided with isolated footing of Shallow Foundation.
Standard size of foundation of footing:– using thumb rule, standard size of foundation of footing for a 2 storey/ G+1 normal residential building, where soil safe bearing capacity is high, a size of foundation of footing 1.5m x 1.5m (1500mm×1500mm) should be used. Standard depth of foundation of footing should be atleast 5′ (1.5m or 1500mm) below ground level provided with isolated footing of Shallow Foundation.
