The mix proportion for M10 concrete is typically 1:3:6, where 1 is the ratio of cement, 3 is the ratio of sand, and 6 is the ratio of coarse aggregate. This means, for every 1 part of cement, you would need 3 parts of sand and 6 parts of coarse aggregate. The exact quantities would depend on the total volume of concrete you want to produce.
How much cement sand & aggregate required for M10 concrete, hi guys in this article we know about how much cement sand & aggregate required per 1m3 of m10 grade of concrete & also know about how much cement required for M10 concrete & how to calculate cement sand aggregate required for 1 cubic metre of m10 grade of concrete.
Different grade of concrete like M25, M20, M15, M10, M7.5 & M5 are nominal mix grade of concrete in which M represent mix and numerical figure 25, 20, 15,10,7.5 & 5 are characteristics of compressive strength of concrete gain strength time period of 28 days after curing.
● Table 1 :- different grade of concrete and their compressive strength in N/mm2.
● Understanding grade of concrete:- Grades of concrete are defined by its strength and composition of the concreting material cement sand and aggregate and the minimum strength the concrete should have following 28 days of initial construction. The grade of concrete is understood in measurements of N/mm2 or MPa, where M stands for mix and the MPa denotes the overall characteristics of compressive strength.
● Concrete grade types :- there are three types of concrete grade 1) normal grade of concrete, 2) standard grade of concrete& 3) high strength concrete grade. Normal grade of concrete are based on nominal mix ratio of cement, sand and aggregate have comparatively lower compressive strength than standard grade of concrete.
Normal grade of concrete are M25, M20, M15, M10, M7.5 & M5 generally based on nominal mix proportion of cement sand and aggregate.
Standard grade of concrete are M25, M30, M35, M40, & M45 are made according to design mix have higher compressive strength than normal grade of concrete.
High strength concrete grade are M50, M55, M60, M65, & M70 are made according to design mix have higher compressive strength than normal and standard grade of concrete.
According to nominal mix concrete IS456 code book suggest that minimum grade of concrete is M20 which are used for RCC work and M5, M7.5, M10 and M15 are not used for RCC work, generally lower grade of concrete are used in mass concreting, formation of heavy wall, ground filling, retaining wall formation and all PCC work.
Standard grade of concrete and high strength concrete are used to construction of high rise building, industrial building, commercial building, residential building, apartment, Bridge, dams and heavy structure.
● Table 2 :– different grade of concrete and its types
● Cement sand and aggregate mix ratio in concrete :– there are two types of mix ratio in in different grade of concrete 1) nominal mix & 2) design mix.
Nominal mix concrete IS456 code book suggest lower and normal grade of concrete like M25, M20, M15, M10, M7.5 & M5 have fix cement sand and aggregate ratio.
Design mix concrete IS 456 code book suggest that standard and high strength concrete grade are made according to different types of considering factor like load bearing structure, earthquake resistance, bending moment of column, Environmental factors and quality of cement sand and aggregate.

Weight of sand & aggregate required for 50 kg cement bag for M10 grade of concrete
As we find 4.5 bags of cement, kgs 998 sand & 1432 kgs aggregate for 1 cubic metre of m10 grade of concrete.
Hence 4.5 bags cement = 998 kgs sand
For 1 bag of cement = 998/4.5= 222 kgs sand
Hence 4.5 bags of cement = 1432 kgs aggregate
For 1 bag of cement = 1432/4.5 = 318 kgs aggregate

M10 concrete ratio:- The mix ratio of M10 grade concrete is 1:3:6, consisting of 1 part cement, 3 parts sand (fine aggregate) and 6 parts aggregate (gravel). Apart from that water is used to make the concrete.
Sir, this is wrong quantity of sand. In qty. of Sand you did 4/10 instead of 3/10.
Yes above value considered 4 instead of 3, it should be 3 parts of sand. So calculation will be 3/10*1.54*1620=748Kgs
Right bro. Am so confused
Useful information, thank you
Hello I didn’t get answers for this please help me to finding solutions for this question?
1.For a certain grade of concrete, the ratio of Cement: Sand: Aggregate is 1: 3: 6 (by volume). If 0.33 cu.m. of sand is used, what is the combined sum of the volumes of cement and aggregate?
Aggregate required = 0.66 Cum
Cement required = 0.11 Cum i.e. 0.11*1420/50 = 3.2 Bags
Please check the quantity calculation of sand for M10
There is 4/10*1.54*1620 but right calculation is 3/10*1.54*1620
Quantity is 997 kg but right quantity is 748 kg
the multiplication for aggregate (1.54), I dont think it should be because aggregate does not shrink. cement and sand shrinks when water is added
