How to you calculate concrete for fence posts

How to you calculate concrete for fence posts | how many bags of concrete for fence post | how many bags of concrete do i need for a 4×4 fence post.

Fence posts are built up surrounding the property area of land, it is made of iron steel rod or Timber, in those areas wooden Timber is not inexpensive, mostly agriculture land is surrounded by wooden Timber post, this is made for protection of agricultural land, farm house and their property, and some due to privacy reasons. Fence post are in round, square or rectangular shape made of steel, concrete pole or wooden Timber, but most commonly used is wooden timber fence post.

How to you calculate concrete for fence posts

Size of fence posts:- commonly used size of fence post made of wooden Timber are in square shape of cross sectional dimension of 3″×3″, 4″×4″, 5″×5″ and 6″×6″ having total length about 8 feet, out of 8 feet post length minimum 2 feet buried into the ground and about 6 feet height above the ground level.

Size of fence post hole:- for fencing post you should dig out the soil from the ground and make a post hole, regarding this, what is the size of post hole?, it’s totally depends on height of fence post above the ground and cross-sectional dimension of fence post, depth of post hole should be 1/3 to 1/2 of fence post height which is exactly above the ground and width of post hole should be 3 times the diameter or width of fence of post.

For example a fence post is 6 feet in height above the ground and their cross sectional dimension is 4″×4″, minimum depth of post hole is 1/3 of 6 ft is equal as 2 feet must be buried into the ground and maximum should be 1/2 of 6 ft is equal as 3 feet and width of post hole is 3 times of 4″, that should be equal as 12″ or 1 feet.

Hence, size of post hole:–
● Depth of post hole – 1/3 to 1/2 of height of fence post above ground
● Width of post hole – 3 times diameter or width of cross section of fence post.

How to calculate length of fence posts

Length of fence post depending on your kinds of requirement and protection, either it will be used for privacy purpose, or for protecting agricultural land and property, generally fence post used for privacy purpose is around 6 to 8 feet in height above the ground and for agriculture purpose it should be 4 to 6 feet height.

Regarding this, “how to calculate length of fence post”, a fence post of 6 feet height above the ground should be buried minimum 1/3 of height into the ground and maximum 1/2 of height, such as 1/3 of 6 ft = 2 ft or 1/2 of 6ft = 3 ft, so tatal 6 +2 = 8 ft or tatal 6 +3 = 9 ft, therefore fence post of 6 feet height above the ground should have length minimum 8 feet or maximum about 9 feet. By this method you can calculate total length of any fence post required.

Regarding this, what is the length of 6 feet height fence post, a fence post of 6 feet height above the ground should be buried minimum 1/3 of height into the ground and maximum 1/2 of height, such as 1/3 of 6 ft = 2 ft or 1/2 of 6ft = 3 ft, so tatal 6 +2 = 8 ft or tatal 6 +3 = 9 ft, therefore fence post of 6 feet height above the ground should have minimum length 8 feet or maximum about 9 feet.

How to calculate size of fence post hole

Size of fence post hole depending on height of fence post which is exactly above the ground and their cross section dimension, regarding this, “how to calculate size of fence post hole”, a fence post is height of 6 feet and cross section dimension of 4″×4″, as minimum depth of post hole = 1/3×6 = 2 ft or maximum depth = 1/2 ×6= 3ft, width of post hole = 3 × 4″ = 12″ or 1 feet, therefore a fence post is height of 6 feet and cross section dimension of 4″×4″ have size of fence post hole would be depth of minimum 2 feet or maximum 3 feet and their width is about 12 inch or 1 feet.

Regarding this, “what is the size of fence post hole of height 6 feet of 4″×4″, as minimum depth of post hole = 1/3×6 = 2 ft or maximum depth = 1/2 ×6= 3ft, width of post hole = 3 × 4″ = 12″ or 1 feet, therefore a fence post is height of 6 feet and cross section dimension of 4″×4” have size of fence post hole would be depth of minimum 2 feet or maximum 3 feet and their width is about 12 inch or 1 feet.

Regarding this, “what is the size of fence post hole of post 3″×3″, as minimum depth of post hole = 1/3×6 = 2 ft or maximum depth = 1/2 ×6= 3ft, width of post hole = 3 × 3″ = 9″ or 0.75 feet, therefore a fence post is height of 6 feet and cross section dimension of 3″×3” have size of fence post hole would be depth of minimum 2 feet or maximum 3 feet and their width is about 9 inch or 0.75 feet.

Regarding this, “what is the size of fence post hole of post 6″×6″, as minimum depth of post hole = 1/3×6 = 2 ft or maximum depth = 1/2 ×6= 3ft, width of post hole = 3 × 6″ = 18″ or 1.5 feet, therefore a fence post is height of 6 feet and cross section dimension of 6″×6” have size of fence post hole would be depth of minimum 2 feet or maximum 3 feet and their width is about 18 inch or 1.5 feet.

How do you calculate concrete for fence post

Required volume of poure concrete is equal as volume of fence post hole excluding volume acquired by fence post which is buried into the ground, you can calculate concrete for fence post by subtracting volume of fence post which is buried into the ground in total volume of fence post hole, such as –

1) A fence post of 3 feet height of 3″×3″ cross section have depth of post hole is about 1 feet (1/3×3=1 ft) and width of hole is 9″ deep (3 ×3″=9″).

2) A post hole should filled with gravel upto 3″ to 4″ at base and compact it, then remain depth of hole as 12″- 3″ = 9″

3) Calculate volume of fence post which is buried into the ground by multiplying as 3″×3″× 9″ = 0.0468 CF.

4) Calculate volume of fence post hole as 9″×9″×9″ = 0.4218 CF.

5) Required volume of concrete = 0.4218 CF – 0.0468 CF = 0.375 CF

6) A fast setting concrete ideal for installing fence post, set your post in place and level to ensure it is perfectly vertical, then pouring 0.375 CF quantity of fast setting concrete, which is equal as 1 bag of 50 lb ready mix concrete.
