Rate analysis for 1 cum concrete of M15 (1:2:4)

M 15 grade of concrete have cement, sand and aggregate ratio 1:2:4 in which one part is cement, 2 part is sand and 3 part is aggregate. For quantity and cost calculation for m15 grade of concrete we should follow following steps:-

step 1, Dry volume :- we have wet volume of concrete is 1m3 and we have to convert wet volume into dry volume ,we will multiply 1.5 in wet volume.

Dry volume = 1.54 × 1 = 1.54 m3.

◆ step 2, Cement quantity:- we know that cement density is 1440 kg/m3 and 1 bag cement weight is 50 kg

Quantity of cement = 1/7 × 1.54 m3 × 1440 kg/m3 = 316.8 kg, no of bag cement for 1m3 m15 concrete = 316.8/50 = 6.3.

If rate of cement = INR 400 per bag, then cost of 6.3 bags cement = 6.3 ×400 = INR 2520.

◆ step 3, Sand quantity :- generally sand measured in CFT and 1m3 = 35.3147

Quantity of sand = 2/7 ×1.54 × 35.3147 = 15.5 cft, so 15.5 cft sand quantity required for 1m3 m15 grade of concrete

If market rate of sand is consider INR 50 per cft, then cost of 15.5 cft sand = 15.5 × 50 = INR 775, so cost of sand for 1m3 of m15 concrete = INR 775.

◆ step 4, Aggregate quantity :– generally aggregate measured in CFT and 1m3 = 35.3147

Quantity of aggregate = 4/7 ×1.54 × 35.3147 = 31 cft, so 31 cft aggregate quantity required for 1m3 m15 grade of concrete

If market rate of aggregate is consider INR 60 per cft, then cost of 31 cft aggregate = 31 × 60 = INR 1860, so cost of aggregate for 1m3 of m15 concrete = INR 1860.

◆ step 5, material cost :- quantity and cost of material required for 1 cubic metre of m15 grade of concrete is some cost of cement sand and aggregate

Sub total cost of material = cement cost + sand cost + aggregate cost = 2520 +775 + 1860 = INR 5155.

◆ step 6, labour rate and charges :- consider one mason and 2 helper completed 1 cubic metre of concrete work in 8 hour, per mason rate INR 600 and per Helper rate 400,then cost of labour in concreting work = 600 +(2×400) = INR 1400.

Sub total cost = 5155 + 1400 = INR 6555

◆ step 7, water charges:- quantity of water required in concreting work used for preparing of mix and curing, consider 1.5% cost of water, then 1.5% of 6555 = INR 98

Sub total cost = 6555 + 98 = INR 6653

◆ step 8, overhead expenses :- consider 2% overhead expenses,then 2% of 6555 = INR 131.

Sub total cost = 6653 + 131 = INR 6784

◆ step 9, cost of equipment and tools :– consider cost of equipment or tools is 1.5 %,then 1.5% of 6555 = INR 98

Sub total cost = 6784 + 98 = INR 6882

◆ step 10, contractor profit :- consider contractor profit is 10%, then 10% of 6555 = INR 655

Total cost = 6882 + 655 = INR 7537.

Ans. INR 7537 is cost and rate analysis for 1 cum concrete of M15 (1:2:4).

◆ step 11 : rate per sq m for concrete m15, consider thickness of concrete structure is 150mm thick so Area of concrete structure in square metre = 1m3/0.15m = 6.67,

6.67 m2 concrete structure cost = INR 7537, so rate per sq m for concrete M15 = 7537/6.67 = INR 1130.

◆ step 12 :-  rate per sq feet for concrete m15,consider thickness of concrete structure is 6 inch (0.5 ft) thick and 1m3 = 35.3147 cft so Area of concrete structure in square feet = 35.3147/0.5 = 70.6 sq ft

70.6 sq ft concrete structure cost = INR 7537, so rate per sq ft for concrete M15 = 7537/70.6 = INR 107.
