## how to calculate unit weight of steel rods

unit weight of steel rods is calculated in two unit 1) steel weight per meter in kg and 2) steel weight per foot in Kg. there is a unique formula and easy calculation of different size of Steel bar having length 12 metres. Formula for steel weight is following:

Steel weight calculation formula is  two types -steel weight per metre in kg and steel weight per foot in kg

Formula for steel weight per metre in kg is following:

steel weight =(Dia)*2/162×Length
W =( D)*2 L/162 kg

And formula for steel weight per foot in kg is following

steel weight =(Dia)*2/533×Length
W =( D)*2 L/533 kg

Formula for Steel weight per metre or per foot in kg is used for calculation of Unit Weight of Steel. For example unit weight of 8 mm steel per meter or per foot in kg –

8 mm steel weight per meter = (8×8)/162 kg/m

Unit weight of 8mm steel = 0.395 kg/m

Unit weight of 8 mm steel = (8×8)/533 kg/ft

Unit weight of 8 mm steel = 0.12 kg/ft

Unit weight of 8mm Steel per meter is 0.395 kg/m and per foot is 0.12 kg/foot

### d2/162 formula derivation for steel unit weight per meter

we have to calculate unit weight of Steel rods in Kilogram per metre and we know that unit weight of steel bar is 7850 kg/m3. Its means 7850 kg is steel weight of 1 cubic metre.

Weight=volume of steel × steel density

Weight= cross sectional area×Length×densit

W =πD*2/4×L×density    W=weight of steel      π=3.14     D= diameter of Steel bar in mm    L= length of Steel bar =1m    Density=7850kg/m3

Putting all the value we get

Weight=3.14×Dmm*2/4×1m×7850kg/m3

Now we have to to convert millimetre square into metre square

1mm*2 = 1/1000m×1/1000m =1/1000000m*2 ( * square)

So weight =3.14×D m2/4000000×1m×7850kg/m3

Weight =D*2 ×26649/4000000 kg

Weight= D*2×0.006162 kg

It can be written as follow

Weight= D*2/1/0.006162 kg

When we divide 1/0.006162 we get 162 so

Weight =D*2 ×L/162 kg/m

Steel unit weight formula is

Weight =D*2 ×L/162 kg/m

### d2/533 formula derivation for steel unit weight per foot

Weight=Volume×density

W=πD*2/4×L×density
W=3.14×Dmm*2/4×1ft×222kg/ft3
1mm*2.  =1/304.80×304.80 ft*2

W=(3.14×Dft×1ft/4×304.80×304.80)×222kg/ft3

W = D*2 ×0.001878 kg/foot

Weight=D*2/1/0.001878 kg/foot

Weight =D*2/533 ×L kg/ft

This formula is used for steel weight calculation per foot.

### 8mm steel weight per meter

● find the 8 mm steel weight per meter and length 12 metre and 10 number of Steel in one bundle:-

 8mm steel bar

● weight =D2×L/162

1) 8 mm steel weight per meter

Weight=8×8×1÷162=0.39kg

2)  8 mm steel weight for 12m

W=8×8×12÷162=4.74kg

3) 8 mm steel weight for 1bundle

=8×8×12×10÷162=47.407kg

0.39 kg is Unit weight of 8 mm steel per metre,4.74 kg is for 12 meter and 47.407 kg is for 1 bundle 8 mm steel.

### 10 mm steel rods weight per meter

● how to calculate weight of 10 mm size Steel bar having 12 metre length and 7 number of Steel in one bundle:-

 10mm steel bar

●weight calculation:-

1) 10 mm steel rods weight for 1m =10×10×1÷162=0.617 kg

2) 10 mm steel rods weight for 12m W=10×10×12÷162=7.407kg

3) 10 mm steel rod weight for 1bundle =10×10×12×7÷162=51.85kg

0.617 kg is Unit weight of 10 mm steel per metre,7.407 kg is for 12 meter and 51.85 kg is for 1 bundle 10 mm steel.

### 12mm steel bar weight per meter

● how to calculate 12mm steel bar weight having length 12 metre and 5 number of steel bar in one bundle:-

● weight calculation:-

1) 12mm steel bar weight for 1m =12×12×1÷162=0.889kg

2)  12mm steel bar weight for 12m =12×12×12÷162=10.667 kg

3)  12mm steel bar weight for1bundle

=12×12×12×5÷162=53.333kg

0.889 kg is Unit weight of 12 mm steel per metre,10.667 kg is for 12 meter and 53.34 kg is for 1 bundle 8 mm steel.

### 16mm steel bar weight

how to calculate weight of size of 16 mm Steel bar having 12 m length and 3 number of steel bar in one bundle

● weight calculation:-

1) 16mm steel bar weight for 1m W=16×16×1÷162=1.58kg

2)  16mm steel bar weight for 12m W=16×16×12÷162=18.96kg

3)  16mm steel bar weight for 1 bundle

=16×16×12×3÷162=56.889kg

1.58 kg is Unit weight of 16 mm steel per metre,18.96 kg is for 12 meter and 56.889 kg is for 1 bundle 16 mm steel.

### 20mm steel weight

how to calculate weight  of size of 20 mm Steel bar having length 12 metre and 2 number of steel bar in one bundle:-

● weight calculation:-

1) 20mm steel weight for 1m  W =20×20×1÷162=2.469kg

2)  20mm steel weight for 12m W=20×20×12÷162=29.629kg

3)  20mm steel weight for 1 bundle =20×20×12×2÷162=59.259kg

2.469 kg is Unit weight of 20 mm steel per metre,29.629 kg is for 12 meter and 59.259 kg is for 1 bundle 20 mm steel.

### 25mm steel rod weight

how to calculate weight of Steel bar of size 25 mm having length 12 metre:-

● weight calculation:-

1) 25mm steel rod weight for 1m W=25×25×1÷162=3.858kg

2) 25mm steel rod weight for 12m W=25×25×12÷162=46.296kg

1) for 1m W=40×40×1÷162=9.876kg

1) for 1m W=45×45×1÷162=12.5kg

formula of weight =D*2/533×L

Kg/Foot

●Note:-

D= diameter of Steel bar in millimetre
L= length of Steel bar in foot=39 foot
Density= 222 kg/ft3

### d2/533 derivation

Weight=Volume×density

W=πD*2/4×L×density
W=3.14×Dmm*2/4×1ft×222kg/ft3
1mm*2.  =1/304.80×304.80 ft*2

W=(3.14×Dft×1ft/4×304.80×304.80)×222kg/ft3

W = D*2 ×0.001878 kg/foot

Weight=D*2/1/0.001878 kg/foot

Weight =D*2/533 ×L kg/ft

● how to calculate weight of Steel bar of 8 mm size having length 39 foot and 10 number of steel bar in one bundle-

● weight calculation:-

1) for 1foot

W=8×8×1÷533=0.12 kg

2) for 39 ft W=8×8×39÷533=4.68kg

3) for 1 bundle W= 8×8×39×10÷533=46.80 kg

● how to calculate weight of Steel bar having size 10 mm and 39 feet long having 7 number of steel bar in one bundle

●solve:-

1) for 1foot W=10×10×1÷533=0.1876kg

2) for 39 feet W=10×10×39÷533=7.317kg

3)for 1bundle W=10×10×39×7÷533=51.219kg

● how to calculate weight  of Steel bar having size 12 mm and 39 feet long and 5 number of steel bar in one bundle:-

● solve:-

1) For 1foot W=12×12×1÷533=0.270kg

2) For 39 feet W= 12×12×39÷533=10.53 kg

3) For 1 bundle W=12×12×39×5÷533=52.68kg

how to calculate weight of Steel bar 16 mm size having length 39 feet and 3 number of steel bar present in one bundle

1) for 1foot W=16×16×1÷533=0.80kg

● how to calculate the weight of Steel bar size 20 mm having length 39 feet and 2 piece of Steel bar in one bundle

1) for 1foot W=20×20×1÷533=0.75 kg

2) for 39 feet W=20×20×39÷533=29.268kg

3) for 1bundle W=20×20×39×2÷533=58.536kg
