Hi guys in this article we know about rate analysis of tile flooring, rate analysis for vitrified tile flooring, rate analysis for ceramic tile flooring, rate analysis for vitrified tile skirting, how much no of tiles, cement & sand required for flooring and their cost estimate. Generally we use ceramic, vitrified tiles and marbles for smooth and good looking attractive flooring.
We have choice to use ceramic and vitrified tiles and marble for surface flooring, mostly tiles are used for bathroom toilet and kitchen. Due to smoothness and wide range of variety of attractive tiles available in market we use tiles for flooring.
How many tiles do i need? To estimate how many tiles you need, simply divide the floor or wall area by the area of one tile. For example, a 10 square meter floor would require 28 600 x 600 mm tiles. Because 1 tile area = 0.6×0.6 = 0.36m2, so number of 600×600 tiles you need to cover 10 square meters area is 10/0.6 = 28 tiles.
To estimate how many tiles you will need simply divide the surface area of floors or walls by area of one tile. For example floor area of 100 square feet would require 100 300×300mm tiles.
Rate analysis for tile flooring
1) Quantity and cost of 100 sq ft tile flooring:- consider we have 100 square foot area for tiles installation for surface flooring, hence tiles required = 100 sq ft, if size of tile is 2×2, than number of tiles = 100/4= 25 nos, consider wastage and breakage @10% of 25 nos = 2.5, rounding it equal to 3, total number of 2 × 2 size tiles required for 100 sq ft = 25+ 3 = 28, total square foot area in 28nos of 2 × 2 tiles = 28×4 =112 sq ft.
If rate of tile is rs 50 per square foot, then total cost of 112 sq ft tiles needed for 100 sq ft flooring = 112× 50 = rs 5600, therefore cost of tiles needed for 100 sq ft is around rs 5600.
2) Cost of white cement for 100 sq ft tile flooring:- white cement is used to filled in the joints between the tiles quantity of white cement depends on the size of tiles, if tile size is less, then quantity of cement required should be more and vice versa, generally cost of white cement should be taken as 1 kg of 50 rupees for 100 sq ft tiles flooring.
3) Quantity and cost of cement sand bedding for 100 sq ft tile flooring:- 40mm or 1.5 inch thickness of cement sand bedding is required for tile installation, consider we have 40mm thickness of mortar mix 1:4 (1 parts cement and 4 parts sand), wet volume = 100 sq ft × 1.5/12= 12.5 cubic foot, converting wet volume to dry volume increased by 40% = 12.5 × 1.40 = 17.5 cubic foot, converting into cubic meter = 0.496 m3 of mortar.
Quantity of cement= 1/5 × 0.496m3× 1440kg/m3 = 143kg or 143/50 = 2.86 bags cement, if cement rate is rs 400 per bag, then cost of cement = 400 × 2.86 = rs 1144.
Quantity of sand = 4/5 × 17.5 cft = 14 cubic foot, if rate of sand per cft is rs 40, then cost of sand = 14× 40 = rs 560.
Quantity and cost of cement sand bedding for 100 sq ft tiles flooring, add the cost of cement and sand, rs 1144 + 560 = rs 1704, therefore total cost of cement and sand required for 100 sq ft flooring is rs 1704.
4) Overall material cost for 100 sq ft tiles flooring:- its includes cost of tiles, cost of white cement, cost of cement and sand, transportation cost tools and tackles & consumable @5% and 1% for safety
Material cost = 5600 + 50 + 1704 = rs 7354, Add @5% for transportation cost, tools, tackles and consumable = 5% of 7354 = rs 368, then subtotal cost = 7354 + 368 = rs 7722.
Add @1% for safety = 1% of 7354 = rs 74, then subtotal cost = 7722+ 74 = rs 7796.
5) Labour rate and cost for 100 sq ft tiles flooring :- generally labour rate for tile fixing is about rs 20 per square foot, so labour rate = 100 × 20 = rs 2000, therefor labour cost for 100 square feet tiles flooring is around rs 2000, add this in subtotal = 7796 + 2000 = rs 9796,
Add 15% for overhead and contractor profit in subtotal, 15% of 9796 = rs 1470, add this in subtotal = 9796 + 1470 = rs 11266.
Rate analysis for 100 sq ft tile flooring cost around 11266 rupees, it needs 28nos of 2 × 2 sq ft tile cost of 5600 rupees, 1 kg of 50 rupees for white cement, 2.86 bags of cement cost of rs 1144, 14 cubic feet sand of rs 560, transportation and tools cost of rs 368, cost of rs 74 for safety, labour cost of rs 2000 and overhead and profit cost of rs 1470.
