How many bricks required for construction of 12×12 room

Calculating no of bricks required for construction of 12×12 room size we have a require bricks and quantity of cement mortar.

According to thickness of brick wall there are three types of brick wall construction, 4.5 inch brick wall, 9 inch brick wall and 13.5 inch brickwall.

4.5 inch brick wall and 9 inch brick wall are in practice today in construction of high rise and low rise residential and commercial building and 13.5 inch brick wall are not in practice today but in some rular areas, some people might be built their house with 13.5 inch brick wall due to economic condition, they use in place of rcc column.

Question is how many bricks required for 12×12 room size, it might be 4.5 inch wall, 9 inch wall and 13.5 inch wall. We calculate no of bricks required for 12×12 room size of 4.5 inch,9 inch & 13.5 brick wall. Door, window and ventilation size should be deducted.

How many bricks required for 12 × 12 feet room? Ans. 1713 nos bricks are required for 12 × 12 feet room.

How many bricks required for 12×12 sq ft room, brick calculation for 144 sq ft room
Suppose we have given following

Height of room = 10 foot

Size of room = 12 ×12 sq ft

Area of single wall = 12 × 10 = 120 sq ft

Area of all four wall = 120 ft2×4 = 480 sq ft

Note:- door windows and ventilation should be deducted

Suppose door size = 7×3 = 21 sq ft

Window size = 4×3 =12 sq ft

Ventilation size = 1×1 =1 sq ft

Total deduction = 21+12+1= 34 sq ft

Net area of wall having brick

Area = 480 ft 2_ 34ft2= 446 sq ft

Net area of total brickwork = 446 sq ft

We have 4.5 inch, 9 inch and 13.5 inch brick wall

How many bricks required for 12×12 room size of 4.5 inch brick wall

Area of brickwork = 446 sq ft

Size of brick wall = 4.5 inch

Size of one brick = 8″×4″×4″

Thickness of mortar = 0.5 inch = 12 mm

Size of brick with mortar = 8.5″×4.5″×4.5″

Volume of brickwork = 446 × 4.5/12 = 167.25 Cu ft

Volume of brickwork = 167.25 Cu ft

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 8.5″/12×4.5″/12×4.5″/12

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.0996 Cu ft

no of bricks = volume of brickwork/ Volume of 1 brick with mortar

no of bricks = 167.25/0.0996 = 1679

Consider 2 % wastage during transportation storage & work

2 % of 1680 = 33.58 = 34 nos

Total no of bricks = 1679 + 34 = 1713

1713 no of bricks required for construction of 12 × 12 room size of 4.5 inch brick wall.

How many bricks required for 12×12 room size of 9 inch brick wall

Area of brickwork = 446 sq ft

Size of brick wall = 9 inch

Size of one brick = 8″×4″×4″

Thickness of mortar = 0.5 inch = 12 mm

Size of brick with mortar = 8.5″×4.5″×4.5″

Volume of brickwork = 446 × 9/12 = 334.5 Cu ft

Volume of brickwork = 334.5 Cu ft

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 8.5″/12×4.5″/12×4.5″/12

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.0996 Cu ft

no of bricks = volume of brickwork/ Volume of 1 brick with mortar

no of bricks = 334.5/0.0996 = 3358

Consider 2 % wastage during transportation storage & work

2 % of 3358 = 67 nos

Total no of bricks = 3358 + 67 = 3425

3425 no of bricks required for construction of 12 × 12 room size of 9 inch brick wall.

How many bricks required for 12×12 room size of 13.5 inch brick wall

Area of brickwork = 446 sq ft

Size of brick wall = 13.5 inch

Size of one brick = 8″×4″×4″

Thickness of mortar = 0.5 inch = 12 mm

Size of brick with mortar = 8.5″×4.5″×4.5″

Volume of brickwork = 446 × 13.5/12 =502 Cu ft

Volume of brickwork = 502 Cu ft

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 8.5″/12×4.5″/12×4.5″/12

Volume of 1 brick with mortar = 0.0996 Cu ft

no of bricks = volume of brickwork/ Volume of 1 brick with mortar

no of bricks = 502/0.0996 = 5038

Consider 2 % wastage during transportation storage & work

2 % of 5038 = 33.58 = 101

Total no of bricks = 5038 + 101 = 5139

5139 no of bricks required for construction of 12 × 12 room size of 13.5 inch brick wall.

1713 ( for 4.5 inch brick wall), 3425 ( for 9 inch brick wall) & 5139 (for 13.5 inch brick wall) no of bricks required for construction of 12 × 12 Room size.
