Calculation of bricks- how to calculate the number of bricks in a wall, calculation of bricks in a wall,we should need estimate of essential building material for new projects, we should need estimate of bricks sand aggregates and Cements and steel.
Every civil engineer try to calculate and estimate calculation of bricks in a wall and how to calculate number of bricks in a wall.
Calculation of bricks in very simple and easy method for estimate of new building projects. We know that bricks are are very in in size according to different nation local manufacturing but in this topics we should consider IS standard size of bricks.
procedure for calculation of bricks in wall
1) volume of wall which are built
2) volume of standard size brick
3) details of volume of opening in the wall
4) volume of wastage of bricks
■1) volume of wall :– for new projects estimate and calculate the volume of bricks in a wall
Assume,
Length of brick wall (l) =10 foot
Height of brick wall( h) = 10 foot
Thickness of wall (b) = 1 foot
Now volume of brick wall = l × b × h
Volume of wall = 10 ×1×10 ft3
Volume of brick wall = 100 cu.ft
■2) calculation of volume of brick:- we have taken IS standard size of brick that is 190mm×100mm×100mm
Size of brick=190mm×100mm×100mm
Size of mortar thickness = 10 mm
Size of brick = 200mm×100mm×100mm
200mm = 0.656168 foot
100 mm = 0.328084 foot
Size brick =0.656×0.328×0.328 ft3
Volume of brick= =0.656×0.328×0.328 ft3
Volume of brick= 0.706 cu.ft
■3) number of bricks
= volume of wall/ volume of bricks
Number of bricks= 100/0.0706
Number of bricks= 1415 nos

4) wastage of bricks:- we consider 5% wastage of bricks in storage and transportation and during the construction of building wall
5% bricks= (1415×5)/100= 38.5 nos
■ 5) opening in wall :- brick wall if it has opening of door and window we should taken its size
Door size= 4 ft ×7 ft
Door volume = 4ft × 7 ft × 1 ft =28 ft3
Window size = 3 ft× 4 ft
Window volume = 3×4×1ft3 =12 ft3
■ note:- wastage of bricks must be add in total calculation requirement of number of bricks and volume of opening like door and window must be deducted from total volume
