Mix ratio for external brick wall plastering is about 1:4 in which 1 part is cement and 4 part is sand and thickness of external brick wall plastering is about consists of two coat first Coat of 12 mm and second coat of 8 mm that is aggregate thickness of external brick wall plastering is 20 mm.
Quantity of cement required for 100 sqm plastering
■ solve :-
Area of platering work = 100 m2
Thickness of plastering = 20 mm
You should convert millimetre into meter by dividing with 1000
Thickness = 20/1000 = 0.02 m
Volume of plastering = 100m2× 0.02 m
Volume of plastering work = 2 m3
In plastering process some amount of cement mortar quantity get wastage we consider about 20% of mortar wastage
20% of 2 m3 = 0.4 m3
Total volume of mortar needed for external brick wall plaster = 2m3+0.4m3 = 2.4 m3
Now we have to calculate dry volume of cement mortar for calculating this we should multiply with cofactor 1.33 in wet volume of cement mortar
Dry volume = 1.33 × 2.4 m3 = 3.192 m3
Now mix ratio for external brick wall plastering is about 1:4
Total proportion = 1+ 4 =5
Part of cement = 1/5
Part of sand = 4/5
Quantity of cement required for external brick wall plastering
Weight of cement = 1/5× Volume× density
Part of cement = 1/5
Dry volume of mortar = 3.192 m3
Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3
Weight = 1/5 × 3.192 m3× 1440m3/kg
Weight of cement = 919.296 kg
1 bag cement = 50 kg
Number of bags of cement = 919.296/50
Number of bags of cement = 18.38
18.38 (919.3kg) number of bags of cement required for 100 sqm of external brick wall plastering
Quantity of sand required for 100 sqm external brick wall plastering
1 m3 = 35.32 cuft
Part of sand = 4/5
Mortar quantity = 3.192 m3
We need to convert mortar quantity in cubic metre into cubic feet so this we should multiply with 35.32
Volume of sand = 4/5×3.192×35.32 cuft
Volume of sand = 90.19 cuft
90.19 cubic feet of sand is required for 100 sqm of external brick wall plastering
What is internal brick wall plastering
plain surface of brick wall that is known as internal brick wall it needs to improve its surface smoothness by plastering work.
Mix ratio for internal brick wall plastering is about 1:6 or 1:5 in which 1 part is cement and 6 part is sand and thickness of internal brick wall plastering is about consists of one coat of 12 mm
Quantity of cement required for 100 sqm internal plastering
■ solve :-
Area of platering work = 100 m2
Thickness of plastering = 12 mm
You should convert millimetre into meter by dividing with 1000
Thickness = 12/1000 = 0.012 m
Volume of plastering = 100m2× 0.012 m
Volume of plastering work = 1.2 m3
In plastering process some amount of cement mortar quantity get wastage we consider about 20% of mortar wastage
20% of 1.2 m3 = 0.24 m3
Total volume of mortar needed for internal brick wall plaster = 1.2m3+0.24m3 = 1.44 m3
Now we have to calculate dry volume of cement mortar for calculating this we should multiply with cofactor 1.33 in wet volume of cement mortar
Dry volume = 1.33 × 1.44 m3 = 1.9152 m3
Now mix ratio for internal brick wall plastering is about 1:6
Total proportion = 1+ 6 =7
Part of cement = 1/7
Part of sand = 6/7
Quantity of cement required for internal brick wall plastering
Weight of cement = 1/7× Volume× density
Part of cement = 1/7
Dry volume of mortar = 1.9152 m3
Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3
Weight = 1/7 × 1.9152 m3× 1440m3/kg
Weight of cement = 393.984 kg
1 bag cement = 50 kg
Number of bags of cement = 393.884/50
Number of bags of cement = 7.879
7.879 (394 kg) number of bags of cement required for 100 sqm of internal brick wall plastering
Quantity of sand required for 100 sqm internal brick wall plastering
1 m3 = 35.32 cuft
Part of sand = 6/7
Mortar quantity = 1.9152 m3
We need to convert mortar quantity in cubic metre into cubic feet so this we should multiply with 35.32
Volume of sand = 6/7×1.9152×35.32 cuft
Volume of sand = 57.98 cuft
57.98 cubic feet of sand is required for 100 sqm of internal brick wall plastering

What is ceiling or concrete wall plastering
rough surface of ceiling that is known as concrete wall it needs to improve its surface smoothness by plastering work. Mix ratio for ceiling plastering is about 1:3 in which 1 part is cement and 3 part is sand and thickness of ceiling plastering is about consists of one coat of 6 mm
Quantity of cement required for 100 sqm concrete plastering
■ solve :-
Area of platering work = 100 m2
Thickness of plastering = 6 mm
You should convert millimetre into meter by dividing with 1000
Thickness = 6/1000 = 0.006m
Volume of plastering = 100m2× 0.006 m
Volume of plastering work = 0.6m3
In plastering process some amount of cement mortar quantity get wastage we consider about 20% of mortar wastage
20% of 0.6m3 = 0.12 m3
Total volume of mortar needed for ceiling plaster = 0.6m3+0.12m3 = 0.72 m3
Now we have to calculate dry volume of cement mortar for calculating this we should multiply with cofactor 1.33 in wet volume of cement mortar
Dry volume = 1.33 × 0.72 m3 = 0.9576 m3
Now mix ratio for ceiling plastering is about 1:3
Total proportion = 1+ 3 =4
Part of cement = 1/4
Part of sand = 3/4
Quantity of cement required for ceiling plastering
Weight of cement = 1/4× Volume× density
Part of cement = 1/4
Dry volume of mortar = 0.9576 m3
Density of cement = 1440 kg/m3
Weight = 1/4 × 0.9576 m3× 1440m3/kg
Weight of cement = 344.736 kg
1 bag cement = 50 kg
Number of bags of cement = 344.736/50
Number of bags of cement = 6.89
6.89 (344.7 kg) number of bags of cement required for 100 sqm of ceiling plastering
